How Does It Work?

You've probably wondered how AntiRebate works. We do business with approximately 200 companies, large and small, ranging from Dell Computers to Bass Pro Shops, Walmart to Best Buy, Office Depot to Home Depot, and everything in between. The Research Teams at AntiRebate search the products from these companies everyday to find the best deals for you!

You might consider AntiRebate as one of the top salespersons for some of the companies that we do business with. As a top salesperson, sometimes we can get better prices than an individual going directly to the merchant's website. For example, let's say you are looking to buy a Brand-Name Laptop. You can go directly to Brand-Name Computer's web site and purchase that laptop at the advertised price of $700. But if you come to AntiRebate first, and click on our link to Brand-Name Computer, the price for the exact same laptop is $500.

This type of arrangement is beneficial to everyone.
  • The customers are happy because they just saved $200 on a brand new laptop.
  • The merchant is happy because they have increased sales, marketshare, and brand recognition to the customers that AntiRebate referred. Thus the merchant can give bigger discounts to AntiRebate users.
  • The Research Teams at AntiRebate are happy because they are getting a paycheck from the small commission from every sale. A lot of small commissions do add up to one big paycheck! Every penny counts. And yes, we do count pennies. :)

Contrary to popular belief, we do not get paid for clicks. We only get commission from sales of products. You can click all you want and we don't get 1 penny until a purchase is made. Our commissions are small, usually between 1% to 4%, and even less on computers and electronics. As an example, if you were to buy a laptop computer for $500, our commission might be about $2.50.

To keep AntiRebate online and our Research Teams fed and busy looking for more great deals for you, we urge you to click the link that we provide when you want to purchase the product. If you purchase the product, we'll get a commission and everyone wins.

Wait! Why did we tell you to click our links when we just told you we don't get paid for clicks? The only way the merchant will know you were referred by AntiRebate is by clicking on the links we provide. Otherwise, if you purchase a product and the merchant does not know that you were referred by AntiRebate, we don't get a commission and you might not get a discount. It works just like a store that has commissioned salespeople. If you purchase an item with the salesperson, she earns a commission. If you bypass the salesperson and take the item directly to the cashier, nobody earns a commission and you might end up paying the "sticker price."

Here are some tips on getting the products that you see offered on AntiRebate.

  • If you see something that you want, get it fast! Some items have very limited supplies.

One example was the Tickle Me Elmo right before Christmas 2006. It was the hottest selling toy that year. It was extremely difficult to find and people who did have one were selling it for $200+ on eBay and Craigslist. We found a source that had a short supply of them at the retail price of $39.99. We posted the offer at 4:00 AM in the morning. They were completely sold out by 7:00 AM. We congratulate the parents who were able to get the Tickle Me Elmo for their child.

Another example was the very popular Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster in 2009. They were sold out in most stores. We showed our visitors a store that had them in stock for $9.99 each.

This doesn't apply to just children's toys during the holidays. Notebook computers, tablets, digital cameras, LCD HDTVs often sell very quickly, especially if the price is very good!

  • Other items may have a large supply, but the offer may be time-limited. For example, Dell and Best Buy on occasion will have laptop computers and LCD monitors at deep discounts. Some of the sale events only last one or two days. If you miss the sale, the prices are usually much higher after the sale. Just like in a mall or department store, if you miss a sale the price will be higher the next day.

  • Use coupon codes when we provide them. Make sure to enter them exactly as shown. Upper case and lower case codes do make a difference in most cases. 15OffCouponCode and 15offcouponcode are not the same. Be certain not to add any extra spaces in front or behind the coupon code.

  • Certain offers are only activated by clicking through a link that we provide. For example, there are some coupons that do not require a code. When you click through our link, the coupon is activated automatically. Anything you buy from that point on will have the coupon applied to it.
